My name is Lindsey Stafford and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor/ therapist based in Chafford Hundred, Grays, Thurrock. I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework.
I offer a warm, friendly and non-judgemental environment in which to work with both individuals and couples. Sometimes there can be aspects of our life that can overwhelm our thoughts and emotions. These can often be as a result of relationship difficulties, bereavement, abuse or trauma. Other times there are no obvious reasons for our struggles or distress, or feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness. If you would like to talk about any of these concerns then you will find me easy to talk with and very down to earth. My therapy room is based a short walk from Chafford Hundred train station in Thurrock, Essex.
For several years I worked as a counsellor for addiction at CGL. I was based across services in East London and offered therapy to clients, both in and out of recovery, for alcohol and drug addiction. In addition to working with addiction I spent two years at Mind, as a mental health counsellor, working with clients who presented with issues around bereavement and loss, depression, anxiety and anger.
Through my background in Education as a Behaviour Improvement Coordinator, I have worked for many years supporting young people with severe behavioural issues to improve their wellbeing and attainment.
I have experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with social and emotional needs as well as those on the Autistic Spectrum. I have attended many training courses covering ASD, ADHD, SEMH.
I am an approved CPCAB tutor of counselling courses run by Further Educational Colleges
